The Teal-Jones Group is committed to sustainable management of the resources
under their stewardship in a scientifically credible and environmentally,
economically and socially responsible manner.
The Teal-Jones Group recognizes that only through respect for all aspects of our
environment can we consistently achieve our objectives and commitments in the
long term productivity and conservation of natural resources.
The Teal-Jones Group’s commitments include:
- Provision of a safe and healthy workplace;
- Competitive and efficient production of high quality forest products;
- Practicing sustainable forest management to balance the use of natural
resources and protect the environment, including unique or special resources; - Minimizing impacts of activities and conducting all aspects of forest operations
and wood manufacturing in a manner that prevents pollution; - Meeting or exceeding all applicable environmental legislation, regulations,
and other management commitments; - Utilizing and improving on the most current sustainable forest management
science and technology; - Managing natural resources to achieve the best interests of society and
adapting to the evolving values of society; involving the public, including
First Nations, in ongoing and meaningful participation; - Respecting First Nations and treaty rights;
- Demonstrating continual improvement through regular evaluation and reporting
of environmental performance and procedures; - Promoting environmental protection among staff, employees and contractors
through education and communication; and - Educating the public regarding sustainable forest management and the use of
wood products as an environmentally friendly choice.
